(Basmala, has ordered its construction ... the servant of our lord and master the imam al-Amir bi-ahkam Allah the son of the imam al-Musta'li) Bi'llah, commander of the faithful, may God's prayers be upon them and upon their pure and honourable ascendants, and their pious descendants, seeking the favour of God, the King, the Generous...O God, give victory to the armies of the imam al-Amir bi-ahkam Allah, commander of the faithful, over all the infid(ells.....the most noble lord, al-Ma'mun amir of the armies, sword of Islam, defender of the imam), protector of the judges of the Muslims and the director of the missionaries of the believers, Abu 'Abd Allah Muhammad (servant of) al-Amir, may God strengthen religion for him, may He make the commander of the faithful enjoy long life, may He perpetuate his power and elevate his word, in the year 519/1125-6.

(بسملة مما امر بعمله ... فتى مولانا و سيدنا الامام الامر باحكام الله بن الامام المستعلى) بالله امير المومنين صلوات الله عليهما و على ابائهما الطاهرين وابنائهما الاكرمين تقربا الى الله الملك الجوا(د ؟) ... امنين <1> و اقام ... اللهم انصر جيوش الامام الامر باحكام الله امير المومنين <2> على كافة المشرك(ين ... السيد الاجل المامون <3> امير الجيوش سيف الاسلام نااصر الامام) كافل قضاة المسلمين وهادى دعات المومنين ابو عبدالله محمد الامرى عضد الله به الدين وامتع بطول بقائة امير المومنين وادام قدرته واعلى كلمته في سنة تسع عشرة و خمسمائة ... لاقامة البرهان

Comments <1> This could possibly be امين, see photo 415/3. <2> Van Berchem adds the phrase لاقامة البرهان, but it is not present in photo 415/4 <3> المامون is missing in Van Berchem's reading. The only surviving parts are as follows: - from الله امير المؤمنين as far as لالملك الجواد, the words امنين and اقام, and from اللهم انصر as far as علي كافة المشركين
